Thank you

Before our prayer on Friday I mentioned that the reason we all get to sleep in today is because of the countless numbers of men and women who have served our country.  We don't have a complete list of the number of Trinity High School alums who have served in the military but we did host an assembly in 2010 as part of our 40th anniversary and many joined us so we could honor them.  We do have three members of our staff who are veterans:

Mr. Clement '63 of our facilities department
Mr. Hobart of our math department
Mr. O'Leary of our foreign language department

I encouraged our students to thank these men and all the veterans who have given so much to us.  We then prayed the Prayer of St. Francis:

Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;Where there is injury, pardon;Where there is error, the truth;Where there is doubt, the faith;Where there is despair, hope;Where there is darkness, light;And where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,Grant that I may not so much seekTo be consoled, as to console;To be understood, as to understand;To be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.
