This Saturday night/Sunday morning we will have our second annual Cardboard City event. This has quickly become one of our most popular events which, most importantly, raises a ton of money for New Horizons. This year 8th graders from Saint Joseph Regional Junior High School will also be joining us for a night of sleeping on the front lawn of Trinity in a cardboard box.
We will gather in the gym at 8:30pm on Saturday night for Mass celebrated by Father Anselm Smedile, OSB of Saint Anselm College. Following Mass we will watch the movie "The Blindside" and then head outside around 11pm for the evening. We will wake (those who actually sleep) everyone up around 7am for a light breakfast, clean-up, and departure.
Each student has been asked to raise at least $30 but many give much more. My hope is that we raise well over $3,000.00 which would surpass what we raised last year. The need is even greater so hopefully we can do it.
