The Year of Faith

Today the Church begins the Year of Faith, a time set apart to rejuvenate, jump start, or begin our faith lives.  Pope Benedict XVI picked this day to kick off the Year of Faith as it coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Second Vatican Council and the 20th anniversary of the publication of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.  The Year of Faith will run through November 24, 2013, the Solemnity of Christ the King.

We have a number of ideas and initiatives to celebrate the Year of Faith at Trinity High School.  All of our students received a special prayer card today and we will hang banners around the school to mark this special year.

There is a meeting of bishops and lay people from around the world in Rome over the next 3 weeks to discuss the Year of Faith and ways to enliven people's faith lives.  Our very own Archbishop Gerald Lacroix '75 of Quebec is among the 300 or so in Rome and is posting updates on his Facebook page.  You can read his thoughts and see his pictures here.

Stay tuned...

  1. Thanks for sharing my Facebook information and for inviting THS students and faculty to stay updated on the Synod on New Evangelization. This is an amazing experience in Rome. Sorry all my posts are in French... but the photos are international! Blessings to all!
