Gift for our freshman families

On Tuesday,  Pope Francis inaugurated an Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy, a Holy Year that focuses on the mercy of God the Father and on opening our hearts to the fact that we are “loved forever” by Him.  Pope Francis chose Dec. 8 as the opening date as it is not only the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of Mary but also the 50th anniversary of the conclusion of the Second Vatican Council (Vatican II).  The Year of Mercy will run through November 20, 2016 and Trinity High School will have a number of opportunities to enter more deeply into the jubilee celebration.
To mark this historical day, we presented a gift to the parents and students of the class of 2019 - the book “Rediscover Catholicism” by Matthew Kelly, an internationally renowned Catholic speaker and author.  These books were donated to us through the generosity of Dr. Allen Hunt who works with Matthew at The Dynamic Catholic Institute.  Dr. Hunt spoke to all of the Catholic school teachers in the Diocese of Manchester at our annual Formation Day in October and offered these books free of charge for the families of our schools.  The books were presented to the students following Tuesday's Mass.  It is certainly our hope and prayer that this book can be a guide to all of our families, whatever path they may be walking.
