A week of Masses and Mercy

So sorry for not posting in over a week but I have been severely under the weather all week!

This week was Trinity Week at Trinity High School.  It's an old tradition at the school and is our spirit week.  There are special dress down days, an afternoon assembly with fun events, and evening events like a movie night, a dance, etc.  We decided to add a new dimension this year - Mass and works of mercy.  Each day (except for Friday) each of the four classes attended Mass at a local parish and then broke off to do works of mercy in the community for a couple of hours.

On Monday, the freshmen kicked the week off by attending the 8:00am Mass at St. Anthony's Parish, the home of our chaplain Father Richard Dion.  Unfortunately he could not be present that day so the Mass was celebrated by a priest who lives at the rectory and serves as the hospital chaplain, Father Damien.  We had buses take the students to their various sites.  Many parents served as chaperones which was a big help.

Tuesday, the sophomores attended the 8:00am Mass at St. Pius X Parish which was celebrated by the pastor, Fr. Bob Gorski.  On Wednesday, the juniors attended the 8:30am Mass at Blessed Sacrament Parish and were warmly welcomed by the pastor Father John Bucchino, OFM.  Finally, on Thursday the seniors attended the 8:30am Mass at St. Raphael's Parish.  This Mass was also attended by the students of St. Benedict's Academy which was a nice addition.  Father Jerome Day, OSB was the celebrant.  The final hymn was sung by the St. Benedict's students and the seniors gave them a warm applause.

The students performed works of mercy at many sites as you can imagine.  I am grateful to all the organizations for letting us serve them:
