Advent 2013

The four-week long season of Advent began last evening.  Advent marks the beginning of the Church's liturgical year and is preparation for two events: the second coming of Jesus at the end of time and the marking of Jesus' birth at Christmas.

Here are what we have planned for Advent at Trinity High School:

First Week of Advent
Dec. 2: Prayer and lighting of first Advent candle outdoors at 7:50am
Dec. 3: Confessions in chapel 11am-12pm
Dec. 4: Guatemala Service Trip Spaghetti Supper: 5pm in cafeteria and Christmas Concert: 7pm in the gym
Dec. 5: Morning prayer at 7:30am in the chapel followed by donuts in Campus Ministry.  In addition, serving dinner at New Horizons from 4pm-6pm
Dec. 6: Candycanes for every student and staff to mark the Feast of St. Nicholas

Second Week of Advent
Dec. 9: Prayer and lighting of second Advent candle outdoors at 7:50am
Dec. 10: Confessions in chapel 11am-12pm
Dec. 11: Assisting at Kid's Cafe from 5pm-7pm
Dec. 12: Prayer services in chapel during all theology mods to mark the Feast of our Lady of Guadalupe
Dec. 13: Morning prayer at 7:30am in the chapel followed by donuts in Campus Ministry
Dec. 14: Campus Ministry trip to New York City, concluded with Mass at NYC church.  Breakfast with Santa, sponsored by Student Council at 8am in the cafeteria

Third Week of Advent
Dec. 15: Sunday Night Mass and dinner at 5pm in the chapel and the cafeteria
Dec. 16: Prayer and lighting of third Advent candle outdoors at 7:50am.  Assisting at St. Raphael's Food Pantry from 7pm-8pm
Dec. 17: Confessions in chapel 11am-12pm
Dec. 18: Morning prayer in chapel at 7:30am followed by donuts in Campus Ministry.
Dec. 19: Toys for Tots drive concludes and Faculty/Student basketball game
Dec. 20: Advent/Christmas Mass at 11am at Saint Anthony's Church in Manchester
