Praying for Syria

Last Sunday Pope Francis announced that there would be a gathering in St. Peter's Square on Saturday from 7pm-12am to pray for peace in Syria.  He said, "Humanity needs to see these gestures of peace and to hear words of hope and peace."  Inspired by this, our school community will briefly gather outside on the front lawn of the school tomorrow morning to pray for the world to see.  We have Mass at 9:20am to mark the beginning of the new academic year.  Immediately following Mass we will go outside where Ms. Foley of our theology department will sing "Let There Be Peace on Earth" followed by the entire school praying the Prayer of St. Francis.  As Ms. Foley is singing, four students will process with a cross that we will place in front of the school.  The cross will stand over the weekend as our own gesture of hope and peace for the people of Manchester to see.

All are welcome to join us.
