Our gym got a fresh coat of paint this summer and and a little redecoration. The gym hasn't had a cross in it so Mr. Smith, our dean of students and director of admissions, volunteered to make one. The gym's bleachers used to be made of wood and we still have much of the original wood laying around so he used that to make the cross. It's very simple but striking, especially against the white wall and since the wood came from the bleachers in the gym, it has special meaning. Our first Mass of the year is this Friday and we will have our celebrant, Father Ray Ball, bless and dedicate the cross for our community.
