To Jesus, through Mary

Each year we present our students with symbols of our faith.  Freshmen receive a Bible, juniors receive a Tau cross to wear around their neck, seniors receive a candle to symbolize the light of Christ, and sophomores receive a rosary.  I had hoped to distribute the rosaries to the sophomores at Mass on the Solemnity of Saint Joseph (March 19) but we had a snow day that day.  So today we are having a simple ceremony in the chapel during theology classes where I explain what a rosary is used for and then have each sophomore come up and take one.  Father Charles blessed the rosaries for us at our Mass last evening.

As Father Charles said in his blessing, may the students discover that it is through Mary that we come to know Jesus Christ.
