There is an expression I've come across that I like a lot - "first world problems." That is, stuff we Americans complain about that the rest of the world wouldn't either fathom. For example, I cannot for the life of me find my remote control. I was going to post something about it on Facebook joking about losing it but I realized what a first world problem that really is. Is that something to really complain about or fret over?
It got me thinking about ways we as a school community can worry less about our first world problems and start thinking more about the problems other people face that pale in comparison. It's worth a discussion...what are your first world problems?
