Vocation Awareness Week

This week is Vocation Awareness Week.  It is an opportunity for all of us to consider what God is calling us to do with our lives and to be open to the possibility that He may be calling some to serve Him and His Church as a priest or religious.  We remember in a special way four Pioneers who have answered God's call - Father Benedict Guevin, OSB '72, Archbishop Gerald Lacroix '75Mr. Michael Sartori '06 (seminarian) and our former Campus Minister Mr. Andrew Nelson (who, God willing, will be ordained a transitional deacon this May).

Yesterday Father Jason Jalbert, the Director of Vocations for the Diocese of Manchester, came to Trinity to speak with the freshmen and sophomores about vocations.  I wasn't there unfortunately as I was away at a conference but I heard it was a wonderful presentation.

Let us pray that more young men and women may be open to God's call:

Loving and Generous God, it is You who call us by name and ask us to follow You. Help us to grow in the Love and Service of our Church as we experience it today. Give us the energy and courage of Your Spirit to shape its future. Grant us faith-filled leaders who will embrace Christ's Mission of love and justice. Bless the Church of Manchester by raising up dedicated and generous leaders from our families and friends who will serve Your people as Sisters, Priests, Brothers, Deacons and Lay Ministers. Inspire us to know You better and open our hearts to hear Your call.

We ask this through our Lord.
