Our annual Thanksgiving Basket Drive to benefit the food pantries of Blessed Sacrament and Transfiguration Parishes is well underway. I handed out about 430 or so laundry baskets on Monday and Tuesday and they were all taken! People of course can still donate baskets but they can bring their items in boxes, bags, or even buy a laundry basket.
The amazing students of Saint Joseph Regional Junior High School donated boxes and boxes and boxes of stuffing, instant potatoes, canned goods, etc to our drive. One of our parents, Mrs. Roberge (mother of Ashley '14), and I picked the items up from Saint Joe's yesterday. In addition, another one of our parents, Mrs. Korzyniowski (mother of Alex '15), donated 50 pounds of carrots and 50 pounds of potatoes! Our cafeteria staff has agreed to donate some baskets and many Student Council members agreed to donate at least two baskets.
I am pretty convinced we will meet our goal of feeding 500 families this Thanksgiving. God bless everyone for their generosity!
