Holy Week 2015

This past Sunday was Palm Sunday and the beginning of Holy Week.  Each day at Trinity High School, we are having some sort of prayer opportunity to mark the week.  Our morning prayer each day is an excerpt from the gospel of the day which leads us towards the events of the Easter Triduum.  Today's passage came from St. John and was about the beryl of Jesus by Judas.  I love the line, "And it was night" after Judas leaves the meal. Finally, we passed out palms to the students in theology classes yesterday.

Yesterday morning, we prayed the Seven Last Words of Jesus in the chapel and today at lunch we prayed the Seven Sorrows of Mary.  Tomorrow I will offer students the opportunity to read one of the the passion narratives after school.

On Holy Thursday we will have our traditional schoolwide prayer service with the washing of the feet and the Stations of the Cross and in the evening we will take part in our annual Holy Thursday pilgrimage to five churches.  We begin with Night Prayer at Saint Anselm Abbey Church and then spend moments in prayer at St. Raphael's, St. Anthony's, St. Joseph's Cathedral, and St. Catherine's.  We will then top off our night with ice cream before the great fast of Good Friday.

All are welcome.
