Go North young man

The question our former campus minister, Father Andrew Nelson, has been asked since the chrism oil was still on his hands, was where he was going to be assigned.  He spent the summer after his ordination at the Parish of the Assumption in Dover before heading back to Baltimore to write his thesis  for an advanced degree.  He returned to Manchester 2 weeks ago and he announced today on Facebook that Bishop Libasci has named him the associate pastor at Good Shepherd Parish in Berlin and Holy Family in Gorham.  The current associate pastor, Father Kyle Stanton, was named pastor.  Father Andrew spent the summer of 2012 at the parish as a deacon so he is no stranger there.

I went to Good Shepherd's St. Anne's Church twice last year for funerals and it is a stunning church, perhaps the most beautiful in the state.  Berlin has fallen on hard times but I think Father Andrew and Father Kyle - both young guys - will do some amazing things there.  Be sure to visit them!
