Thanksgiving Basket Drive

One of our great traditions this time of year is our Thanksgiving Basket Drive to benefit the food pantries at Blessed Sacrament Parish and the Parish of the Transfiguration, both in Manchester.  Each year our students donate over 400 baskets of food with all the fixings for a Thanksgiving dinner (with the exception of a turkey) and we bring them over to the parishes on the Monday before Thanksgiving. Our students are so extraordinarily generous with this effort and the parishes rely so heavily on them at Thanksgiving.  I always wait outside on the Monday and greet the students as they drop the baskets off on the front lawn of the school.  It is so gratifying to look out during the day and seeing hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of the baskets.

Saint Joseph Regional Junior High School is helping again by collecting the items and on Monday a group of parents will assemble them into baskets.

If you are interested in taking part we are collecting the following items by Monday:

2 cans of turkey gravy
5 pound bag of potatoes
2 bags of fresh carrots
1 package of dinner rolls
1 box of stuffing mix
2 cans of cranberry sauce
2 cans of green beans
1 can of coffee
2 cans of fruit cocktail
Assorted desserts
