We have arrived...

The Trinity High School contingent arrived at Manhattan College this afternoon for the annual Lasallian Youth Assembly.  We left Trinity around 9:30am (after a little delay when we found a bee's nest in the sideview mirror and a bee stung Mrs. Photiades!) and after some stops for gas and lunch, we arrived on campus around 2:30pm.  Manhattan College, founded by the Lasallian Christian Brothers in 1853, is located in the Riverdale section of Bronx around W. 250th Street.   It was originally located in Manhattan (hence the name) but they moved to the Bronx in 1922.  The campus is small and up on a hill.  We are staying in a dorm with air conditioning (thank you God!) on the edge of campus.  I look forward to walking around later today.

When we pulled up we were immediately greeted by Mr. Mike Foley of Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School in Brooklyn.  It was so great to know how much we belong now in the Lasallian world, even if we are not back in the fold yet.  We then saw the guys from Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft, NJ (where we stayed for a night after the March for Life last January).  It feels so good to be a part of this!  There are over 10 groups from Lasallian schools here:

Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School, Brooklyn
Central Catholic High School, Pittsburgh
Christian Brothers Academy, Lincroft, NJ
LaSalle Academy, New York City
LaSalle Academy, Providence
Martin de Porres School, Elmont, NY
Saint John's College High School, Washington, DC
Saint Joseph's Collegiate Institute, Buffalo
Saint Mary Magdalene Parish, Queens
Saint Peter's Boy's High School, Staten Island
Saint Raphael's High School, Pawtucket
West Catholic High School, Philadelphia

Stay tuned for many updates, the internet is working great.
