Holy Thursday Prayer Service

Today our school community gathered for our annual Holy Thursday Prayer Service.  We traditionally have a washing of the feet ceremony followed by the Stations of the Cross.  Molly Hayden '16 read the gospel passage from Saint John when Jesus washed the feet of His disciples.  She stopped at the point where He begins to wash the feet and I then washed the feet of 12 members of the school community.  Mr. Mailloux '72 usually does this but he was called away at the last minute for a meeting.  Following the lead of Pope Francis I also kissed their feet.

Following this, we transitioned to the stations.  We did it a little differently this year as the Mystery Players performed the Sorrowful Mysteries.  The Mystery Players is a group of students from Trinity and a few other schools who put the performance on every Friday in Lent at churches in New Hampshire.  Ms. Girard directs the group and their performance was powerful.  There was powerful music, dialogue, music, and lighting which blew everyone away.  You could have heard a pin drop during the performance.  Many parents joined us as well as Father Thomas Frink, SJ from Saint Mary and Joseph Parish in Salem.  He told Ms. Girard that the performance completely changed his outlook on the theology of the crucifixion.

Wow.

I am so grateful to Ms. Girard and the Trinity students who blessed us with their performance:
