Sorry I forgot to post this yesterday!
Loving God, we believe that in sending Your Son Jesus among us that you fulfilled Your promise to “bring glad tidings to the poor.” We all suffer from poverty whether it is from poverty of spirit, poverty of trust, poverty of faith or of material goods. However, today we are mindful that our Haitian brothers and sisters are still experiencing the poverty that comes post a natural disaster. The world responded with great generosity immediately following the earthquake. We pray that the world not lose sight of the continued plight of Haiti as we approach the third anniversary of the earthquake. May we realize that in living out our call to witness to the fulfillment of the Kingdom of God that is at hand we must be the ones to bring the Good News to those in need. Let us pray that the needs of our brothers and sisters are continuing to be fulfilled in these days.
