March for Life IX (or X)

Once again Trinity High School will be sending a delegation of over 100 students, teachers, parents and even one alum to the March for Life in Washington, DC.  I believe this is the 9th or 10th year we've sent folks on the trip.  The March is usually on January 22 (the anniversary of Roe v. Wade) but since the Inauguration is on January 21 this year, the March was moved to January 25.

We will be leaving Trinity on January 24 at 10:30am and driving straight through to our host schools.  Once again the boys will be staying at DeMatha Catholic High School and the girls at Elizabeth Seton High School, both right outside Washington.  I can't thank these schools enough for hosting us (for free) year after year after year.  We will only be at the schools for about 8 or 9 hours as we will be up early the next day for the Youth Rally and Mass at the Comcast Center at the University of Maryland.  The Youth Rally, in my opinion, is the best part of the trip.  You're surrounded by tens of thousands of high school and college students and the Mass is so positive and upbeat.

Following this, we will head on the Metro for the National Mall to march with hundreds and hundreds of thousands of people up towards the Capitol Building.  The students will then have a few hours to do some touring around DC before we're back on the buses.  Since the March is on a Friday this year, we are adding a day to our trip and spending all day Saturday in New York City.  We will sleep at Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft, NJ on Friday night.

As we get closer to the trip I am getting more and more excited.  This is always a major experience for our students and it's so cool to get to travel and be around people from all over the country united for life.

Stay tuned!
