March for Life VIII

One of the great traditions of Trinity High School is attending the March for Life in Washington, DC.  This annual event in January is one of the largest gatherings in Washington with hundreds of thousands of people (mostly high school and college students) in attendance.

We have always sent a large contingent to the March (one year we had over 200 students) but we have to cap it at 90 as we now need tickets to one of the main events and it's hard to get a large number.  We will leave for Washington on January 24 and spend the night at two schools in Maryland - the girls at one and the boys at another.  On the morning of January 25, we will head to the University of Maryland for a Youth Rally and Mass for Life which is the highlight of the trip.  Imagine tens of thousands of high school students going crazy for Mass - it's that amazing.  Following this, we will head down to the National Mall and then march up towards the Capitol Building with the massive crowd.  The students will then get a few hours to tour DC and we will head out around 6pm.

Typically we come right home at this point but this year we are going to sleep at a high school in New Jersey and spend all day on January 26 in New York City.

I posted the sign-up sheets yesterday and all but 10 or so spots were filled, the rest will be gone soon.  Here we go again!
