Brotherly visit

Today two Lasallian Christian Brothers - Bro. John McMahon, FSC and Bro. Edward Shields, FSC - and a young man considering a vocation to the brothers named Maleik (I didn't catch his last name) visited Trinity.  Bro. John, some may recall, taught here from 1967-1971 and was Mr. Mailloux's '72 inspiration to become an English teacher.

They wanted to come and visit as Trinity while we continue our discernment about reaffilating with the order.  They arrived around 10am and we took them around the school.  Bro. John of course has been here many times before but it was the first time for Bro. Edward and Maleik.  After the tour, they asked if they could speak with students who have attended the past two summer Lasallian Youth Assemblies (LYA) - in Philadelphia in 2011 and this past summer in Buffalo.  Kasie Bourque '14, Bryan Dufour '14, Will Herringshaw '13, Joe Lamontagne '14, and Kerra Photiades '14 joined us and shared some nice insights with the brothers about their experiences at LYA and their thoughts on the Lasallian world.  It was very, very reaffirming to hear what they had to say.

Mr. Mailloux then graciously bought us all subs from the Candia Road Convenience Store (if you've never had their roast beef subs, you've never lived) and they then all headed over to Saint Joseph Regional Junior High School to visit.  Bro. Edward worked in elementary education for over 30 years in New York City so was right at home.  He spent some time talking to a 7th grade class about the brothers and was truly in the zone.

It's always a pleasure to spend time with the brothers, especially when they get to interact with our students.  Our students truly "get it" and are totally in love with the Lasallian world and their schools.  Good and amazing things are happening...
