Annual Thanksgiving Basket Drive

Every year on the Monday before Thanksgiving, the front lawn of Trinity High School is filled with hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of baskets filled with food for Thanksgiving dinner.  We collect these baskets to benefit the food pantries at Blessed Sacrament Parish and Transfiguration Parish.  These two parishes do so much to help the most vulnerable of Manchester and every year we try to help them with their Thanksgiving donations.  Saint Joseph Regional Junior High School students will once again be helping us with our drive.

Students will be receiving laundry baskets on November 13 and are humbly asked if they can return them on November 19 filled with:

  • 2 cans of turkey gravy
  • 5 pound bag of potatoes
  • 2 bags of fresh carrots
  • 1 package of dinner rolls
  • 1 box of stuffing mix
  • 2 cans of cranberry sauce
  • 2 cans of green beans
  • 1 can of coffee
  • 2 cans of fruit cocktail
  • Assorted desserts
  • Anything else you may want to add
We will have our Thanksgiving Mass on this day as well and following Mass, the celebrant will bless the baskets.  We will then transport them to the food pantries after school.  It's always a rewarding experience to drop the baskets off so it you're able to help with this, please email me.
