Tomorrow at 9am, Gov. John Lynch will visit Trinity High School to encourage students to support the New Hampshire Food Bank. Trinity is sponsoring a canned food drive this month and I have set a goal of 10,000 pounds by September 27! I know this is very ambitious number but the Food Bank needs all the help they can get. By comparison, we had a canned food drive a few years back which netted one 5,000 pounds.
The Food Bank - which is part of Catholic Charities - is 100% dependent on donations and from what I understand, is in dire need of food. They supply food for all the food pantries in the state and so if the Food Bank doesn't have food, neither do the food pantries.
Families are welcome to join us for the assembly which will be in the gym.
