Late last night our group from Saint Francis Inn, led by Mrs. Tarr and Mr. Wentworth, returned to Trinity. Hopefully a couple of them will share their thoughts on the trip on the old blog soon.
Tomorrow morning the second group headed to Philadelphia leaves town. Ms. P. and I are taking five students to Lasalle University for a week-long experience called Lasallian Youth Assembly. The students going are: Kasie Bourque '14, Ryan Carrier '13, Ryan Nichols '12, Kerra Photiades '14, and Kiersten Photiades '12.
The week is sponsored by the Lasallian Christian Brothers, the religious order that founded Trinity, Bishop Bradley, and Saint Joseph High Schools. In addition to us, there will be 120 high students from Lasallian Christian Brothers schools from throughout the East Coast in attendance. Although we are no longer a Lasallian school, they generously said we could take part.
Our itinerary is as follows:
Sunday: Arrival, Mass, meet the others
Monday: Spend the day in Philadelphia, visiting the Liberty Museum and attending a lecture on hunger. That evening, talks on service and vocation
Tuesday and Wednesday: service from 9am-3pm and talks in the evening
Thursday: Day trip day to Ocean City, NJ on the Jersey Shore
Friday: departure
We will be posting frequently (assuming we have wi-fi) so stay tuned!
