"Trinity is now in the pope's hands."

Today was an historic day for Trinity High School.  During a papal audience for the 40 archbishops who received the pallium as well as their guests, Archbishop Lacroix and his brother Yvan (Trinity classes of 1975 and 1976, respectively) presented Pope Benedict XVI with a red long-sleeve Trinity High School shirt.

Archbishop Lacroix and Yvan showed it to the pope (who then touched it) and they explained that it was a shirt from their Catholic secondary school to which he replied, "Oh, beautiful."  The pope then handed it to his secretary, Msgr. Georg Ganswein who took a close look at it before handing it off to someone else.

Mrs. Henning got awesome video of the moment and we will go to the Vatican Press Office today or tomorrow to get copies of the pictures.  Yvan said the cameras were snapping away and got in close on the shirt!

Afterwards, Archbishop Lacroix said, "Trinity is now in the hands of the pope."
